Theatre Royale

Post by dth1971 »

Who remembers the Theatre Royale at Marriott's Great America? At first it housed Bugs Bunny stage shows but in 1983-1984 the first non Bugs Bunny show at Theatre Royale was "It's a Magic World".

My favorite Theatre Royale show was the "Bugs Bunny Las Vegas Revue" - Where I noticed Honey Bunny during the Extremes (Supremes parody) had sisters named Candy and Sugar.

It was '82 (oops  ) when It's a Magic World" played in Royale. If you want to hear the Extreames again go to http://www.mgashows.net/Sounds/extreames16.mp3

I know you KNEW this... it was 1982' when we did "It's a Magic World!" and it was one of my favorite show memories after 30+ years in this business full time. (Ouch!)

“It's magic... It's a Magic world, It's magic, where rainbows appear, it's a world of magic and make believe...” (Blah, Blah, Blah...)

Sick eh', that I still remember that?

Again, Thanks for the memories!

this was the place we would go in the afternoon, when it was hot. My parents would take us kids in to cool off and watch Bugs & Friends, needless to say my little brother would also get a refreshing nap during the show.

Just added a Theatre Royale folder to my photo album.
Only a couple pictures for now . . . if I find more pics, I'll add them later.

Only home page is available. Wherever I click, excepting a link to mgareunion.com, it redirects me to DotEasy.

Sadly the theater in gurnee is gone. Of all things, it was converted into a dark ride...sort of a wild mouse roller coaster with a batman theme.

My sources hinted that Theatre Royale might make a reappearance. It seems the Dark Night attraction has not been a stellar hit (afterall, it is just a wild mouse) and the large area devoted to q-lines just is not needed. Anyone else have details?
