Are you familiar with these other Six Flags owned theme parks besides the Gurnee, IL. Six Flags Great America:
Six Flags Over Georgia (Atlanta, GA)
Six Flags Over Texas (Dallas/Arlington, TX)
Six Flags Over Mid-America (St. Louis, MO)
Six Flags Great Adventure (Jackson, NJ)
Six Flags Magic Mountain (Los Angeles, CA)
Six Flags Astroworld (Houston, TX)
Six Flags Fiesta Texas (San Antonio, TX)
Six Flags Elitch Gardens (Denver, CO)
Six Flags America (Landover, MD - I guess this gives Six Flags revenge on Marriott for the Washington, D.C. area not getting its Great America park)
Six Flags Darien Lake (Buffalo, New York)
Six Flags New England (Agawam/Springfield, MA)
Six Flags Marine World (Vallejo, CA)
And are you familiar with these other Paramount owned theme parks besides Paramount's Great America in Santa Clara, California:
Paramount's Kings Island (Cincinnatti, Ohio)
Paramount's King's Dominion (Doswell/Richmond, VA)
Paramount's Carowinds (Charlotte, N.C.)
Paramount's Canada's Wonderland (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
TIDBITS:
* Six Flags also used to own Movieworld and Stars Hall of Fame in California, as well as The Power Plant in Baltimore, Maryland; and World of Adventure/Geauga Lake in the Cleveland, Ohio area (a former Sea World location).
* Paramount's forerunner owners of the park were Taft and Kings Entertainment, which also used to own the College/Pro Football Hall of Fame in Ohio and Hanna-Barbera's Marineland in California.
* The Six Flags Over Texas park used to have sequences for the "Banana Splits Adventure Hour" filmed there. The Banana Splits was produced by Hanna-Barbera, and much later Hanna-Barbera characters where in the Taft/Kings/Paramount owned theme parks, and after a mid 1990's Time Warner-Turner merger you can even see Hanna-Barbera characters at Six Flags theme parks besides the Looney Tunes characters.
Other Six Flags/Paramount owned theme parks
Hi all,
This is my first post on your forum.
I started working at age 16 and have worked at 4 Marriott's/Six Flag parks.
Here are 2 you didn't mention (they weren't open long!)
Marriotts ran Rye Playland- Rye, NY 1981
Six Flags Auto World- Flint, MI 1985
Marriotts Great America, Santa Clara 1978,79,80,82,83,84
Six Flags Magic Mountain 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990
Hi Steven
Yes, Bugs and Friends were put there that same year. It was as though we had never left MGA...except it was very humid and hot outside. One of the great benefits of working outside was the cancelling of the shows when a summer storm blew through! Many took a train into NYC and caught a matinee!!
