Re: Park Music for downloading!

I miss the Yankee Harbor background music...I really wish I had it on CD. Its sad that I have been up for the last hour with the tunes in my head & I can't listen to them... We used to come up with all sorts of silly names for the songs too... Yankee Disco, Yankees on Ice, etc... When you spend ...

Thanks.

Too bad it doesn't have all the music.
I fear I actually LIKED my YH music.
It was one of the reasons I liked to stand at t Tidal Wave entrance during downtimes...You could hear the music better!

I went to SC GA about 6 years after my last season for the Duran Duran concert.
It hurt to see the place I loved to much changed.

When I saw that the Yankee Clipper was gone, I almost cried.
I had missed my beloved Clipper, the place I loved to be the most...
I still it.

I haven't been back since.

Skyhawk had mechanical issues & had a lot of Downtime (as did the Edge) After someone fell from a Skyhawk ride at a different park, the Santa Clara ride was shut down pending investigation. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/1999/08/23/MN106248.DTL&type=printable Look at the le...

[quote="MGA1] 3) I don't remember the Vanilla Ice concert in Santa Clara. But I do remember that in 1990, "New Kids on the Block" was a relatively unknown opening act for another group. By 1991, "New Kids on the Block" was so famous, that the park couldn't even afford to boo...

Rides 1988 to 1994

I was hired in SC for Smurf Woods/Yukon Rides in 1988 & went to Yankee Rides from '89 to '94. I absolutely loved working there until Paramount made it into a huge movie commercial. (Ever watch the movie "Fierce Creatures?" It felt like that...) I typically could be found at Clipper 2nd...

I remember a Yellow-tagger who worked the "ChickenHawk."
The ride came down & didn't stop spinning, so he tried to physically stop it.
We nicknamed him "Skid" after that...

Perhaps there's a reason to not have 15 year-old kids working rides?

The question I heard the most while working Clipper Chute:
"Pardon me, do you have any Grey Poupon?"

Personally, I preferred 2nd lift.
Esp since my Husband-to-be would work at Chute!

The SC county fair grounds are in a sad state
The fairs are worse & shorter each year.
I think all they use with regularity is the race track...
